Background: Jeffrey J. Davis was recruited as President and CEO of Cyanco in April of 2014. Cyanco is the leading global supplier of reagents and technologies which enable the extraction of the man’s most precious metal, Gold. Jeff and his team are working diligently to grow the business, continually strengthen competitive positioning and create value. Jeff was recruited to lead Evonik’s Global Superabsorbent Polymer business in June of 2010. During his tenure, his team sold out the business’s capacity, debottlenecked it and sold it out again, while increasing profitability and decreasing profit variability. He led the business to expand it’s global footprint via first mover expansions in Saudi Arabia and Taiwan. Jeff joined AGY as Chief Operating Officer in September 2007 and was promoted to President and COO in November 2008. Jeff and the AGY Team expanded the business via creation of the Shanghai AGY JV while optimizing business cost structure and capacity. Jeff joined AGY after a 21-year career at the General Electric Company, where most recently he was General Manager of the GE Sealants and Adhesives business unit. Under Jeff’s leadership, the business introduced several category leadership breakthrough products and delivered all-time record Revenue and EBITDA. Jeff’s prior experiences at GE span a variety of increasingly responsible functional and General Management roles across a number of GE businesses. As VP of Global Sales and Marketing at GE Quartz & Advanced Ceramics, he was based in Tokyo and conceived and implemented several new business models which significantly enhanced GE’s leadership market share and allowed the business to capture significantly more value in its semiconductor equipment applications. Hired by current GE CEO Jeff Immelt as Global Crystalline Polymers Business Leader of GE Plastics, he led a global P&L to improved competitive positioning via new product pipeline, strategic supply alliances and execution of a JV with BASF to build the industry’s largest and most competitive polymerization plant. Additionally, he also served as Halogen Product General Manager at GE Lighting, Plant Manager at GE Control Products and Senior Audit Manager for GE’s Corporate Audit Staff. He is a graduate of GE’s Manufacturing Management Program.
Education and/or Affiliations: A native of Florida,Jeff holds a Masters of Business Administration from the University of Florida and a Bachelors of Science in Electrical Engineering from the Florida Institute of Technology.
