I took a weekend trip back to my hometown for Easter 2022 to see my Mom and to sell my condo at Sandestin. Kim and I snuck away on Saturday and did one of our favorite beach walks down to Morris Lake Outfall. It’s amazing how a 1.8 mile walk can get you from wall to wall 6 rows of beach chairs to totally unadulterated Florida, just like I remember, growing up. My Dad and I used to camp and fish on Campbell Lake which is the second largest of the 13 very unique Coastal Dune Lakes of South Walton County. Each of these lakes has their own ecosystem based on their water chemistry / salinity and the marine life which has entered during the intermittent outfalls to the Gulf of Mexico. 90% of the visitors to our area do not even realize they are there. Pictures in this collection include imagery of :
- The Morris Lake Outfall (gradual but still flowing)
- Sandpipers
- Royal Terns
- Sunsets Over Choctawhatchee Bay
